Last week, the train conductor was teasing me as I sketched the seat in front of me and said I should draw him instead. So I took him up on his offer and sketched him on my train schedule.
Please meet Tony, my train conductor.

  • nice! i love the drawing on found paper. it really adds a new dimension to the drawing, giving it "placement" and history. A story. Are they going to be more in this series? It would make an amazing set. :O) ophelia
  • cool! are you going to give this to him? i'm sure he will love it! :)
  • hello penguin and ninja. i noticed a lil bug on the site. if i enter my normal email address, which has periods in the login, it gives me an error and won't let me submit. i have to use my other addy that does not have a period. no biggie though :)
  • Hallo Opehlia,

Shucks, thanks! I really wanted to continue the series, but I don't really have many willing participants. Also, I'm a bit shy, so when I finally get the nerve to ask permission to sketch them, they get all self-conscious and fidgety. I much prefer a candid session anyways. I have started sketches of people sleeping on the train (only 2, both men). But then there's the problem of them suddenly waking up and thinking that I'm checking them out. @____@

  • Hey Bobo!
I tried to give it to him this week, but oddly enough he wasn't on the train. Not only that, the other conductors say they haven't heard of him. It's like he's a ghost or something... Haha, more likely that he's a recently hired conductor who only works part time, so no one's really familiar with him. I'll try again next week.

  • maybe he was an angel!! :D
  • spoooky!
  • Haha guys, there were other people who saw him. They even asked about the different station stops. It'd be quite strange for me to think that I may have drawn and angel or a ghost.

  • angels can interact w/ other ppl. you never know when you're in their presence.

Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
  • Hi Penguin,

Point taken. But I'm just saying I'd rather not jump to conclusions, you know?
